About The Geroscience Index
The Geroscience Index is an evidence-first directory of the people, labs and organisations shaping the science of aging. It covers 135 people and 37 labs and organisations across the field.
How entries are chosen
The people directory is unranked and organised by category. An academic scientist leads research on the biology of aging; an entrepreneur founded or built a longevity company; a doctor is a physician whose clinical or clinical-research work is directly about aging (an MD alone does not qualify); a communicator reaches a broad audience on aging science. Each profile follows the same template: photo, current title, location, category, a short sourced impact summary, verifiable metrics, links, associated labs, and a full source list with dates. Only currently active people are included.
Methodology
Observed facts — titles, metrics, funding — are recorded with their source and the date they were checked, and are kept separate from any model judgment.
Research fields
Each person and lab is mapped onto the 100 fields of aging science by analysing their work, so that every field lists the people and organisations active in it.
Sorting
The directory is unranked. It is ordered alphabetically and can be reversed (A–Z / Z–A); there is no ranking by metrics.
Global healthspan forecast
Where shown, the global healthspan forecast (ensemble_global_healthspan_years_p50) is an ensemble estimate from several independent models of the median change in global healthy life expectancy if a person's tools and platforms were widely deployed over 20 years. It is always presented with a p10–p90 range and its evidence, and it is a model projection, not a measurement.
