About

The Genomics of Ageing and Rejuvenation Lab, led by João Pedro de Magalhães at the University of Birmingham, studies the genetic, cellular and molecular mechanisms of ageing. Its work centres on experimental and computational methods that bridge genotype and phenotype, with the long-term aim of informing interventions that preserve health by manipulating ageing, including cellular rejuvenation. The lab develops and maintains the Human Ageing Genomic Resources (HAGR), a widely used collection of open databases and tools for ageing research: GenAge (ageing-related genes), AnAge (ageing and life-history data for over 4,000 species), DrugAge (ageing-related drugs in model organisms), GenDR (dietary-restriction genes), LongevityMap (human longevity variants) and CellAge (senescence-associated genes).
