Impact
Jim Mellon is a British entrepreneur and investor who has become one of the most visible commercial champions of longevity science. After a career in fund management, which he has since left, he co-founded Juvenescence in 2017 with Greg Bailey and Declan Doogan to build and finance a portfolio of companies developing therapies for aging and age-related disease. The venture grew out of his book Juvenescence: Investing in the Age of Longevity (2017), written after he travelled to meet leading aging researchers, which helped bring the field to a wider investor and public audience. He co-founded and is a trustee of The Longevity Forum and hosts the annual Longevity Investors Conference, sits on the boards of trustees of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging and the American Federation for Aging Research, and established the Mellon Centre for Longevity at Oriel College, Oxford. He is also active in cellular agriculture through Agronomics.
