Impact
Raghav Sehgal is a computational biologist working on machine-learning measures of biological age. During doctoral research at Yale University, in the laboratories of Morgan Levine and Albert Higgins-Chen, he developed Systems Age, a DNA-methylation biomarker derived from a single blood draw that reports aging across eleven organ systems rather than as a single number; the method was licensed to the consumer-testing company TruDiagnostic. He also serves as Director of Bioinformatics at the Healthy Longevity Clinic and has advised the Longevity Tech Fund and TruDiagnostic on aging biomarkers. His work integrates multi-omic and multi-modal data to identify the biological systems that drive aging, to measure them accurately, and to map how individuals respond to candidate interventions. He has received an Impetus Longevity grant and a Gruber Research Fellowship, and presented this work at the Aging Research and Drug Discovery (ARDD) meeting.
