About

LEV (Longevity Escape Velocity) Foundation is a small San Francisco-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit launched in 2022 by Aubrey de Grey as his third nonprofit, with the mission to cure and prevent age-related disease. Its flagship Robust Mouse Rejuvenation (RMR) programme tests combinations of interventions started in late middle age. The first study, run at the contract research organisation Ichor Life Sciences in Syracuse, New York, treated 1,000 C57BL/6J mice from about 19 months with rapamycin, a galactose-conjugated navitoclax senolytic, AAV-mTERT telomerase gene therapy and young-donor haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, singly and in combinations; the last mouse died in February 2025. The foundation describes the lifespan result as a qualified win and plans a second study, probably in HET3 mice. It also funds tissue cryopreservation work and supports advocacy groups.
