Peter Fedichev

Impact

Peter Fedichev is a physicist who co-founded Gero, a Singapore-based biotechnology company that applies AI and physics-based modelling to human longitudinal data to find drug targets for ageing and age-related disease. He holds a PhD from the University of Amsterdam and previously worked in condensed matter physics before moving into drug discovery. Gero's team has published work on extracting biological age from biomedical data with deep learning, unsupervised learning of ageing principles from longitudinal data, and the effect of rare damaging germline variants on human healthspan and lifespan. The company's framework, formalised as the Fedichev-Gruber theory, separates ageing interventions into three classes, of which today's hallmark-targeting drugs are the first. In July 2025 Gero and Chugai Pharmaceutical signed a joint research and license agreement to develop antibodies against targets identified by Gero's platform, with potential milestone payments of up to about USD 250 million. For the longevity field he represents a quantitative, physics-informed approach to defining and targeting the ageing process itself.
